December is my favorite month of the year, as it’s a month to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Especially since I move to UAE, weather is always being at its very nice during the end of the year. December is also the time for Christmas for some and, even though I’m not celebrating Christmas, I love the Christmas festivities from the people around me.
This year, I want to join the excitement by crafting a season ornament and, instead of buying new things, I prefer to use recycled material to reduce my home waste. Moreover I think it can also be good activity for my daughter, since she can play with the watercolor and brush while I create the pine tree craft.
Christmas Tree Craft
- Pine Tree template
- Tissue box
- Print out the pine tree template on a piece of paper.
- Copy the pattern onto the tissue box, cut it.
- Color the pine tree with watercolor
- Stack a bundle of twigs to make it looks like a board
- Attach the pine tree to the twigs board
- Install it to the door so everyone can see your winter spirit
I choose to craft pine trees because its presistent green needels widely represents the resilience during winter season, when other trees have lost all their leaves. Since 1830s, when first installed as in house christmas decoration by German immigrants in Pennsylvania, US, pine trees became synonymous with the holiday seasons.
